The following Amtek dimming features can be incorporated into your lighting ballast design:

Continuous Dimming Fluorescent and Electronic Ballasts:

Amtek Continuous Dimming fluorescent ballasts and Continuous Dimming electronic ballasts will allow the light output level to be infinitely adjusted between the minimum and maximum specified levels via a specific dimming interface.

Amtek lighting ballasts can be designed for compatibility with new or existing dimming interfaces: active, passive, current source, current sink, DC voltage, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), etc. The dimming interface connection is typically accomplished using an electrically isolated 2-wire input to the lighting ballast.

Continuous Dimming may also be combined with On/Off Control, adding the ability to turn the lamps On and Off via the same interface used for dimming. This can be especially beneficial in rail transit applications with automated load-shedding protocols.

Step Dimming Fluorescent and Electronic Ballasts:

Amtek Step Dimmable fluorescent ballasts and Step Dimmable electronic ballasts will allow the light output level to be adjusted in a specific number of discrete steps from the minimum to the maximum specified level. Typically, this dimming method can be configured for 2, 3, or 4 distinct output levels. The output level may be selected with a simple rotary or toggle switch.
